The design of the Galaxy S22 and S22+ remains the same, the smartphones differ only in physical size, screen size, battery capacity and maximum charging power. These are the first models in the Galaxy S series to be made from heavy-duty reinforced aluminium. It is also the first smartphone to feature Corning Gorilla Glass Victus+ on both the front and back. In addition, the Galaxy S22 has become the most compact flagship of 2022 – with dimensions of 146 x 70.6 x 7.6 mm and a weight of 168 grams, the smartphone received a 6.1-inch screen.

The flagship Ultra outwardly changed more – it abandoned the protruding camera module. The smartphone remained the largest and most massive in the line (228 grams). It also has a groove in the case for the active S Pen stylus, as in the Note line. All S22 gadgets are protected according to the IP68 standard, equipped with ultra-bright Dynamic AMOLED 2X screens, with a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz.

The highest screen resolution of the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra is 3088 by 1440 pixels. The devices are equipped with an Exynos 2200 processor. Samsung’s own development is based on a 4-nanometer process technology and promises high performance, enhanced AI capabilities, as well as an improved cooling system that will not allow the smartphone to overheat and reset operating frequencies.

Galaxy S22 and S22 + received 8 GB of RAM (expandable from the drive) and 128/256 GB of permanent memory. Ultra is available in 8/128, 12/256 and 12/512 GB versions. Models S22 and S22 + use the same set of cameras: the main one with a resolution of 50 megapixels and optical stabilization, “wide” at 12 megapixels and a 10-megapixel telephoto sensor capable of giving three times optical zoom.

The S22 Ultra got the maximum photo and video shooting capabilities – the smartphone has a main camera model of 108 megapixels with optical stabilization and laser autofocus, a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle sensor with autofocus and two telephotos of 10 megapixels each with a three- and ten-fold zoom. The gadget supports 8K Super HDR video recording. For selfie lovers, it has a 40MP front camera.

Exclusive to all smartphones was the function to improve the already existing photos in the Gallery. The gadgets run on Android 12 with the OneUI 4 shell. Samsung promises to compensate for the reduction in battery capacity in the Galaxy S22 and S22 + to 3700 and 4500 mAh with improved energy efficiency. The Ultra still has a 5000 mAh battery.
